printing workshop – advanced
Advanced Printing Workshop
In this workshop I teach you archival quality printing on fiber paper. Previous darkroom experience is required, so please, if you don’t feel confident enough yet, take the Basics Class first.
- Making a work print
- Discussion of the desired look of the final print
- Handling fiber paper
- Dodging and burning
- Contrast controlling
- Different darkroom “tricks” and methods to achieve the required result
- Archival washing
- Drying on glass
- Cutting, Retouching
For this workshop it is important that you come prepared with a negative that you would like to use. It would also be good if you could already have a general idea about how you would like your final print to look. During the Saturday class we print, and at the end of the day we wash the final prints and tape them to the glass to dry. On Sunday we return to the lab to take the prints off the glass and retouch and cut them.
Workshops are usually held on every fourth weekend of the month (Saturday from 10am till 5pm with a quick lunch break, and Sunday from 10am till 2pm), but based on special requests, dates can vary.
There is a maximum of 2 people per workshop.
The price is €150 including equipment and material.
To apply, please go to the “apply to workshops” menu.
